Restorative City and Restorative Practices Integration Intern

She/Her

I joined the Burlington Community Justice Center as an AmeriCorps in the beginning of 2018 and have spent the last few years immersed in Restorative Justice in both the community and the classroom. I have been able to serve in each of our programs in my different service years which has given me a front row seat to how restorative justice is used in our community and schools to create safety and belonging, give voice to affected parties, and provide healing when harm has occurred. This year I am serving as an intern with our Restorative City for Youth Project as we build a steering committee to collaboratively create the vision and goals for the project. I am also working with the Burlington School District to support their continued implementation of Restorative Practices. Outside of the Community Justice Center, I am a student of Restorative Justice at Northern Vermont University and at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. and I have a four-year-old daughter. I love sunsets over the lake and Lake Champlain beaches.
