Kim Jordan

Parallel Justice & Victim Services Specialist, Victim Liaison

I strive to bolster human rights for all through creativity, social justice activism, and systems advocacy. Prior to working at the BCJC, I was a domestic and sexual violence advocate with the DIVAS program at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility and Legal Advocate at Steps to End Domestic Violence. I am a playwright, actor, and theatre director, and co-created, produced, and performed in the show Intersections about the human price of incarceration in Vermont. I focused my graduate work on performance as a tool for social change and hold an M.A. in Applied Theatre from Skidmore College. An aspiring civic engagement nerd, I am a member of the Board of Directors for Burlington’s Off Center for the Dramatic Arts and the ACLU of Vermont, and sit on the National ACLU Board of Directors as Vermont’s affiliate representative. I live in Winooski where I am an appointed commissioner for the Safe, Healthy, Connected People Commission, and own a home with my brilliant wife, Sarah, and our two rascally cats, Gypsy and Tortuga. I love being able to decompress on the Burlington bike path after work and always find new magic in Lake Champlain sunsets.
